Ocean Adventures |
Students observe, touch, and feed many living marine species, both vertebrates and invertebrates, in the touch tanks. They visit six stations in which they learn about marine moms and their babies, the characteristics of different shells, how sand gets to the beach and what it is made of, what makes waves, finding treasures in the evidence of life washed up on the beach, and learning how the trash that humans leave on the beach and in the oceans destroys living things. | IBPYP Standards ALCOS Life Science: |
| All About Trees! | Students collect leaves from the ground or observe and touch new growth on plants. They learn about the differences and similarities of plant characteristics and how they are classified. Tie-ins are made explaining how the functions of plants make life on our planet possible. Students find examples of seasonal differences in plants while out in the habitat. | IBPYP Standards ALCOS Life Science: |
