Dear Parents/Guardians:

Your child will be visiting Wetlands Edge Environmental Center as part of his/her regular course of studies with Decatur City Schools. Wetlands Edge is located at 839 Finley Island Road within the BP Decatur Works Wildlife Habitat. In order for your child to participate in this field trip, you must sign and return the two permission and release forms included in this packet to your child's teacher.

Transportation: Students, teachers, and chaperones will be transported without charge to and from their home schools on Decatur City Schools buses.

What to Wear: Please be weather conscious. In general, casual clothing usually worn outdoors is fine.

What to Bring:

A Big Smile, Lots of Curiosity, and Good Earth Manners! (Cameras are welcome.)

Safety: Every effort has been made to ensure your child's safety while visiting WEEC. During the field trip your child will be constantly supervised. Because Wetlands Edge Environmental Center is a part of Decatur City Schools, he/she will also be subject to the rules outlined in the system's Code of Conduct. The following are general safety rules your child should be aware of and follow. Please discuss these rules with your son or daughter.

When you visit WEEC, please remember that you are a very important part of helping conserve and sustain the living things on our planet.

Leave nothing behind but your footprints
Take nothing but memories and pictures.
